Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what personal data WOWmenu collects, for what purpose, to whom it is disclosed and how long it is kept.

2. Who this policy applies to

This Policy applies to guests (Guest), venues (Venue) and visitors to the WOWmenu website.

3. What data we collect

Guest account data: name, email, language, preferences, favourite venues, notification settings, order history, submitted reviews, dietary preferences and allergens.

Reviews: a guest may leave a review of a venue (text, star rating, photo). The review is passed to the venue and is not stored on WOWmenu servers. If the venue replies to the review, the reply is stored and shown to the guest in their account.

Dietary preferences and allergens: used to personalise AI recommendations. Allergen information for a dish is provided by the venue itself. An AI recommendation is not a guarantee that an allergen is absent — please confirm the composition of a dish directly with the venue.

AI recommendations: to produce a recommendation, your request, preferences, allergens, the relevant menu and your name are transmitted to external AI services — Anthropic (Claude API) and Google (Gemini API). In chat mode the request history is kept for up to 2 hours; outside chat mode, and the AI response itself, are not stored.

Menu digitisation: venues may upload photographs of their menu for recognition and translation using Google technology (Gemini).

Geolocation: used to find the nearest venues. It works only while the application is open, with no background tracking. Coordinates are not stored on our servers. Access is requested through the standard system permission.

Push notifications: sent only after your explicit consent through the device's system permission.

Camera / AR: the AR Hostess feature processes camera video locally on your device — the video is not transmitted to or stored on our servers, and no facial recognition is used.

Order data: venue, table/location, contents of the order, status and amount.

4. Technical providers

We use the following technical providers: Google Analytics (analytics), Firebase (Crashlytics, Authentication, Cloud Messaging), our own mail server, a dedicated hosting server. No advertising or marketing SDKs are used.

5. Who we share data with

Data may be disclosed to: the venue (to fulfil an order or a review), Stripe (to process payments), Anthropic and Google (for AI features), and the technical providers listed above.

6. International data transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the EEA. We take measures to ensure an appropriate level of protection for such transfers.

7. Retention and deletion

When you delete your account, your data is removed from our servers immediately, except for: backups (deleted in the course of scheduled rotation) and records of financial transactions, which may be retained separately from your profile due to accounting and tax requirements.

Order history is kept for as long as your account is active.

9. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing and to withdraw consent, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

If you disagree with our decision on your request, you may appeal by writing to info@wowmenu.ai with the subject line "Appeal".

9a. Sale of data

WOWmenu does not sell your personal data to third parties.

9b. Automated decision-making

WOWmenu does not take decisions based solely on automated processing that would have a legal or similarly significant effect on you. AI dish recommendations are purely supportive and informational.

10. Age restrictions

WOWmenu is available to persons over 18 years of age. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older.

11. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

12. Changes to this policy

We notify you of changes to this Policy through a banner in the application at your next sign-in.
